The Martial Arts Centre’s background
The Red Rose Martial Arts started as a Karate club in 1964.
The Ju-Jitsu club joined the training centre in 1995, when the venue was on the top floor of the building behind the Wagon and Horses pub on St George’s Quay, with the Iaido club starting a few years later.
We changed venue to a larger two hall training centre on the St George’s works site of the Quay in December 1999.
Unfortunately due to the Lancaster City councils re-development of the St George’s Quay, we were forced to move through a compulsory purchase order to our landlord.

We are currently working towards purchasing land to build a new Sports and Community centre on.
